Schooled in design at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Layla L’obatti spent her extracurricular hours honing her craft in New York City’s garment center.

While, at FIT, Layla was inspired to create Between the Sheets®, a fashion show, which would become an avenue of expression for young intimate apparel designers like herself. Thriving as a virally marketed show, within three years, the BTS event tripled the number of participating designers, models, and attendees.

At FIT Layla was the recipient of a prestigious Underfashion Club scholarship for her contributions to the intimate apparel industry, recognizing her dedication to supporting new designers through the Between the Sheets events and her work in the industry. At the age of 21 Layla found herself an entrepreneur not only running the show, but making connections and laying the foundation for the business she would later embark upon.

In 2009 after sharpening her skills working on other intimates brands for such names as Tommy Hilfiger and Nicole Miller, Layla set out to create, Between the Sheets® Lingerie, a new vanguard in intimates and loungewear.

Layla has refined her vision for lingerie into two lifestyle brands: Between the Sheets® Collection and Layla L'obatti for Between the Sheets®. To bring her vision to light Layla has a firm hand on the reigns of everything from merchandising & design, to styling & art direction, and everything in between.

For Layla the evolution of Between the Sheets® from fashion show to lingerie brand has been the realization of a dream. With the same vision and drive that sparked her to create the BTS fashion shows as a platform for young designers, this multitalented designer has evolved BTS to become a medium to share her designs with the world. Ranging from opulent Specimens of Seduction^TM to luxuriously comfortable loungewear, Layla’s vision for Between the Sheets Lingerie invites every woman to feel comfortable in her own skin.
