speaking of cocktails... how about one between the sheets
Apparently our name is not only a fabulous tongue in cheek reference to our lingerie, but it is also a cocktail! Originally concocted in the 1930's it was then popular through the 60's, after that it went out of fashion for a bit. Funny that it is becoming more popular today, imagine walking into the bar and asking the bartender to make you 'Between the Sheets'... deliciously naughty!
I love the vintage crystal this is served in... not to bmention that zest draping over the edge!
The recipe:
1 part white rum
1 part brandy
1 part Cointreau or triple sec
.5 part lemon juice
Mix ice, rum, brandy, cointreau and lemon juice, shake and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with a slice of lemon zest or a lemon curl.... I think we might serve this at our trunk shows and events!

If you have not heard of Dita Von Teese, please, let us introduce you! When you talk about burlesque today, you can guarantee Dita's name will come up. She has been credited with singlehandedly bringing it back into the forefront of fashion, art, and has certainly inspired many designers with her throwback glamour. There are very few performers in this genre today who stand out, and maybe it is because she has done such a good job of carving a niche and name for herself. I have yet to see a performance but it's on my long list of things to do... I thought I'd share this fabulous clip from the launch of her 'Be COINTREAUVERSIAL' live show in which she finishes with a classic martini glass burlesque tease... or should we say "teese"! If you're craving more, you could also mix your self a cointreau teese cocktail...

1.5 cl Monin violet
1.5 cl fresh lemon juice
