I heard about Revamp Productions back in high school when I fell in love with one of their bags, it's a hardshell clutch with a printed exterior and shape that makes it look like you're carrying a folded up poster or magazine under your arm. The prints are usually kitschy and vintage. I love the colors, the themes, and the personality that this brand injects into their creations and I admire that they've been making bags in the USA for years!
I think some of these items could be worn with jeans and a tee to instantly inject a little pin-up/rockabilly style into your wardrobe! I have my eye on this Meteor handbag modeled here by the fabulous pin-up & cheesecake model Bernie Dexter:
I was surprised the other day to find this bag from their collection that shares our name- Between the Sheets! How funny, right? I have to say there must be something cosmically crossed because some of their styles in handbags definitely overlap with our vintage inspired lingerie.

Check out all the vintage car, tiki, pin-up, burlesque, and retro style handbags on the Revamp site. They may not be so budget friendly that you can buy them all, I know I'd stock up on those meteor/deville car inspired bags in all their colors if I could! Just one bag is enough to kick your closet and spring wardrobe into gear. The lingerie as outerwear trend is going strong, and these pin-up pieces are a great way to add to your look. I think some of the pieces border on costume but that's the fun of it!
behind the scenes- Specimens of Seduction photoshoot
We've showed you some other behind the scenes shots and you've seen the stunning final images on our new site, but the way these pieces move is just amazing. This shoot was definitely magical with Larry Baglio behind the camera, Vincent Welch behind the film, Jaime in the spotlight, and our friend at Borrowed & Blue lending some gorgeous accesories this was one of our best shoots at BTS yet!

Super easy and fast to make this sweet alternative to traditional sweets will be sure to satisfy your taste for something fresh, crunch, or sweet. Since fresh fruits and berries are starting to come into season I plan on adding back in this summer staple to my regular rotation!
Ingredients:
A couple of spoonfuls of plain or vanilla yogurt (I prefer vanilla which is sweeter, but regular yogurt is great if you like its tartness)
Assortment of fresh berries ie. rasberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries
Granola of choice (here we used Honey Bunches of Oats - Just clusters)
You can use low-fat yogurt and if you want you can make your own granola so you can control the ingredients. In case you want to try making your own granola check out a recipe by alton brown click here
I also tend to go with more berries and yogurt and really try to limit the granola, but it's really to your tastes the ratio of each in your take!
To add an elegant/refined touch I like making this parfait in a martini glass or champagne flute so you get a really nice view of the layers from the side- plus it makes you feel like you're getting a luxe dessert at an outdoor cafe (at least that's what I like to think)
blueberries dropped leisurely on top
rasperries next (you could also add strawberries & blackberries- the more the berrier!)
Personally I am fantasizing about the even warmer weather, of breezy summer dresses and shoes being pulled out of their boxes and given new life. One thing I don't have and will be shopping for this spring is a bicycle, yes a shiny new vintage inspired bike is what I am craving. Why not authentic vintage? Well, I am in love with all things old but somehow riding a vintage bike does not seem safe in a city like New York with all the cabs, cars, etc, but I will be looking for a true vintage bike for some other projects/decor too! I'll let you know how I fair.
To inspire you to go and discover the world around you anew this spring two vintage images of some bikes I'm looking to for inspiration. A good cruising bike lets you sit upright and less hunched forward. It should also have lower bars in the center to allow for wearing a longer skirt or summer dress (more like the green bike above), and a guard to prevent anything getting caught up in the wheels, but you'll probably still have to find a chic way to tie up that summer skirt when the time comes- ahh the troubles of spring! I won't mind at all.
You know that it's spring when, the sun begins to shine and flowers start to bloom. For those lucky enough to be close enough to a region with a cherry blossom festival, it's definitely one of the most amazing and refreshing sights of spring.
Inspire- 4 dreams & A study of Legs videos by Jim Helton & photographer Atsushi Nishijima
For both of these videos Atsushi Nishijima collaborated with Jim Helton- some insights on what is attractive and inspiring to a photographer- like a girl's legs on the street. It's about those little moments that catch your eye and capture your attention for longer... Looking forward to more parts to the A study of legs video.
I discovered these videos through a the design director at a company I used to work for- with amazing taste I might add. Atsushi shot their lookbook, and that work is not on his site but when it goes online I will share! In the meantime I wanted to share with you Atsushi's interesting point of view.
Atsushi describes the way he "smells" a secret when a woman has her back or side to him, and this is why he enjoys capturing these angles in his photography. He said he could use feeling, but that smell captures it better- I love this quirky way of describing his instincts as a photographer, like a bloodhound who can track something long after it's gone he seems to use all of his senses-waiting for the perfect moment to capture a stunning photo.
