A Sculpture and Architecture Park in Columbia County
Art Omi Sculpture and Architecture Park is tucked away amongst the rolling hills of Columbia County, NY. A 30 min drive from the restaurants and galleries of Hudson, NY, it is a perfect add-on if spending the day exploring Hudson [link to post], Olana State Historic site [link to post], or other sites in the area.
This is one of our favorite outdoor day-trips, because it is one of the few outdoor museums that welcome dogs.

Know before you go
Art Omi is roughly 2 1/2 hours from NYC and isnt accessible by public transportation (the closest train station is the Amtrak in Hudson, NY).
Visiting the Park is free, but donations are encouraged.
Most of the art is outside, but there is a visitor center with exhibits and a cafe. The Park is hilly, with limited defined paths, and can be wet or muddy depending on the season and weather.
As dog owners and lovers, we are always looking for outings that welcome dogs. Art Omi is one of the few outdoor sculpture parks in the Hudson Valley that is dog friendly (for dogs on leash). In recent years, there have been complaints about off leash dogs. In response Art Omi now requires canine visitors to register for a “pass” and spells out when and where dogs are required to be leashed or allowed off leash.
