advent calendar – Day 14 Scavenger Hunt Answers & Winner

12.15.2010 by btslingerie // Leave a Comment

We hinted before that this was coming up… so perhaps some perused our site and facebook gobbling up facts and familiarizing themselves. I think I would liken this to the amazing race, but on the internet, because we chose facts from our sister sites, our facebook/twitter, our product descriptions, and from videos posted on our blog! So on our 14th day of merry we announced the hunt was coming so at 5 O’clock eastern, 2 O’clock pacific we posted the alert…we tweeted, we updated our status… and then we fired the start signal a couple of minute later! We had a serious contender in Esther right out of the gate… but she stumbled on questions 4 and 10 (she was soooo close but she used two S words, and the one in parentheses “seduction” was the one we were looking for and she said kitty when we were looking for calico!!) – but our hearts were warmed by this fan who knew so much about our brand that she could make such a huge splash out of the gate.

Slower to start Selina, Dan, and Stacee were right on her heels… perhaps they took the time to pore through the site, looking for where she misstepped, because all we would say is that two of her answers were close but not quite. Both Selina and Dan stumbled on where we were made, not surprising because we are based in Astoria, but in fact made in NYC! Dan did his research and recovered, but only to miss one key clue- Josh did a recent post about fast fashion and in it we referenced a video from CNN, in which lay the final answer. Quick to pick up the reigns Stacee sprinted to the lead and has claimed the prize!

We hope you all enjoyed this little tour around the internets as much as we did! And since we don’t want anyone to be sore about losing at least we can say we are still running a killer promo for 25% off and free shipping on any order amount! And trust us, once you’re nestled in Between the Sheets in our luxurious modal… you won’t be thinking about anything but sweet, sweet, dreams…

1- what is the coupon code for our CURRENT promo
A: JUMP4JOY (find on the current homepage of our site, on facebook, on twitter)2- where are both Between the Sheets brands made/manufactured? Be SPECIFIC
Manhattan’s Garment District (we are based in Astoria, but we’re made in NYC!! Find this answer on facebook tab for BTS collection, on our blog)

3- what percentage of silk is used in our playdate collection pieces
A: 15% (find it on our playdate pant, tank, robe, or babydoll product description)

4- what is the word that begins with “S” that layla uses to describe he designer range for BTS
A: Seduction! (it’s the name of the collection, and specimens was close… but these pieces are all about seduction. We knew this one would be tricky but we left it up to you to pick what the most powerful descriptor was)

5- what river delta did CNN highli…ght as “the world’s factory floor” & polluted by denim

A: Pearl (Josh’s post on fast fashion, the CNN video on our blog! A lot of you guessed Yangtze…)

6- how many colors/combinations do we currently offer in the Come Out & Play group
A: 7 colors! (found on facebook, twitter, our blog, and also the color swatches on each Come Out & Play style show your seven options!)

7- what was the theme of the 3rd BTS fashion show held in 2007
A: Dream (On our blog, and on www.btsfashionshow.com, and a couple of other places we’re sure!)

8- what type of ribbon are the straps on the cami/bralette in our Come out & Play group

A: Grosgrain (found in the come out & play bralette or cami product description)

9- what is the name of our our fall/winter lookbook model
A: Nadine (If you recall we featured her in our Wednesday’s with Nadine posts, and she’s mentioned in facebook photo albums, and also at the end of our FW10 video on our blog and on the facebook tab for bts collection!)

10- what did layla say inspired the Fall Winter collection’s colors *hint it was in a blog interview
A: Calico kitty (It was all about the colors, so cat/kitty would not suffice- this was shared in our interview with Pretty Little Underthings, linked to from facebook wall post and press album!)

In the Garden – Growing Ginger and Turmeric

I got my very modest first ginger harvest from a small plant plug purchased from an online supplier. The experiment gave me a taste of what was possible and although I skipped a year of growing it I knew I would try again. This first batch of ginger was frozen before going into our first […]

In the Garden – Citrus Trees in Pots

Overwintering Citrus Our first year here I tried and failed with citrus, it took me years to get the nerve to try again. Things I learned as a gardener and houseplant enthusiast that helped me successfully overwinter these two trees. New Citrus Additions With the garage addition giving me a space to move these trees […]

DIY – installing hooks for hanging baskets

It took a long time to find a spot for hanging baskets somewhere in the garden and the new patio area felt like the perfect spot. I debated adding them to the shed but wanted something bigger and felt they would dwarf a smaller structure. In general I’m not a big annual flower person beyond […]
