The name came to me during a brainstorming session in my college dorm, I was putting together an independent fashion show for myself & fellow lingerie classmates who wanted to participate and I called it “New York fashion Between the Sheets”, that was a mouthful so the rest got dropped and Between the Sheets fashion show came to be. I ran the event for 3 years between 2005-2007 and after working in the industry I trademarked the name in preparation to launch wholesale and ship my first collections in 2010.
We’re coming up on our 10 yr anniversary as a brand but what’s even crazier is that the name began 14 years ago in my college dorm room. In the show’s third year, when I was a college senior, a big accomplishment was getting myself and few fellow students covered in a write up in WWD 🙏🏽 also an image of my final walk with modes in pieces I sewed (my files from back then are a mess so I don’t know which photographer took this photo but it’s either Jon Perez or Bob Nittoli)
