So when thinking of something to write about, to share I took a look at something right in front of me. I have a 17″ macbook pro (which is a pretty inspirational piece of equipment) but that’s beside the point, the inspiration is ON my macbook:

I fell in love with this image when looking for a skin for my laptop on Gelaskins.com. I had seen this kid on the train with a colorful ipod and thought it would be a cool way to protect and be inspired every day not only by the tools that let me do what I do, but by what’s on them! I came to the site and was surprised to find another of my favorite artists Audrey Kawasaki also had her artwork featured, however the image above caught my eye. As a lingerie designer those silently seductive moments call to me and I felt like she had taken this image or snapshot of a girl lying down and captured it so beautifully. The way the ink blots fall on the page are so inspiring, I love when you can see a little glimpse of the artist’s hand in a piece of art.

More of her artwork below, and you can click on her name or the art to visit her site.

Most Difficult to Make – Meet the Maker Day 29

In the post about design I talked about pattern making and the process of bringing a design to life. I hand cut the lace and match/mirror the pattern and scallops have to be cut at a precise point […]

Packaging – Meet the Maker Day 28

There is something really lovely about packaging and wrapping orders to ship – smaller items get our 100% recycled and recyclable plastic mailer and larger orders are shipped in boxes with a stamped logo. Each order gets wrapped with tissue, ribbon (which I mentioned in previous post is extra runs from production of ties, straps, […]
