DIY – Shed Loft & Wall Storage

Shed wall storage

To create the shed wall storage I used 1” dowels and spare 2×4 for this project. First thing I did was lay out tools to decide spacing, then marked and drilled/tested fit before drilling all the dowel holes. Placed and glued dowels and then hung it with the framing nailer.

Tools needed

  • Drill bit sized to dowels
  • Saw to cut dowels (or miter saw)
  • Wood glue
  • Framing Nailer or appropriate screws to hang it

Tools are hung in the wall storage. The shed has a variety of garden tools, storage containers, and furniture.

Loft space

From living in tiny NYC apts you learn the value of vertical space when organizing. So taking advantage of the upper part of this shed made sense. Even with the loft in there is room to walk under it comfortably. We used several 2×4’s screwed into framing and OSB sheathing for the loft.
