Vinnie: My work with BTS started because I was friends with Layla L’obatti before the project began.  She had hired a production company to film and edit the 2007 Dream Show, which was nearing completion.  The filming went well, but way too much time had passed and she wasn’t getting anything shown to her.  Being a video editor myself, Layla asking my opinion on their progress and how it looked professionally… And to be perfectly honest, it was HORRIBLE.  I’m not one to rip on other peoples’ work, but the video they were going to give her was embarrassing.  I gave her my blunt and honest opinion, and might have even said “I could do a way better job on my own.”  Luckily Layla took that advice and transferred the editing responsibilities to me.  It was a bit uncomfortable when we went to their offices to obtain the footage and video files.  Probably because they knew what was going on and weren’t too pleased.  But I’m glad Layla gave me the job because it’s made me a complete BTS junkie.

Vinnie: Well I’m just going to start by saying this video was obviously something I wanted to do.  Not only had I not done something like this before, but what guy doesn’t want to sit at his computer and stare at girls in skimpy clothes and get paid for it!?!?!?   Seriously though, the beginning was a bit difficult, as most projects are.  But we wanted the videos to be full of everything we could cram in; interviews, photos, models, show footage, the works.  Then once the ball got rolling, everything just started to fall into place.  Layla and I started coming up with similar ideas and bouncing things back and forth to get it all just right.  I’m really proud of how all the videos turned out, and had a blast doing them.

Vinnie: This is a very loaded question, but I’ll keep it brief.  At college I studied many different art forms, and excelled at quite a few.  With so many paths to choose from, I decided to do it all and see what came best for me.  After my four years was up, I realized that I had spent the majority of my time in front of a computer, editing video.  It was a pretty big step but I decided to pursue post-production as a career and jumped right in.  The best part is that I find it both exciting and challenging.  It’s one of those things that I will be astonished if I can make a living at it because it is so fun for me.

Vinnie: As for these current times, they actually aren’t affecting me all that much.  I’m still a newcomer to the world of video editing, even though I’ve been doing it for over 3 years.  It takes a while to really get involved in this industry, and you have to pay your dues.  So even though I’ve been getting a good amount of experience, the economy hasn’t impacted my work as of yet.  I’m still gaining new projects to work on and making connections and staying positive until my big break when I can make this profession my full time paycheck.

Vinnie: I definitely would not be designing bras, lol.  Maybe I’d be the guy who makes sure the bra fits on the models, hahaha, jk jk.  But hopefully I would end up doing something that involves the outdoors.  Most of my current time is spent on computers and using technology.  So if I was to do something else from scratch, I’d probably go the opposite direction and be involved with the outdoors.  I’m not sure what exactly, but something that gets me outside and maybe even do some traveling, that would be perfect.

Vinnie: As for BTS, I’d still like to be involved should any future projects come up and I have the time.  This video was such a great experience and probably the most fun I’ve had doing actual work.  Plus Layla makes it so easy to work together that I couldn’t say no to something with her company again.  That and let’s not forget, I’m a guy… so why would I say no to working with material containing girls wearing next-to-nothing and flaunting it?!?!

Vinnie: Summer is definitely an awesome time, and where I grew up we were a big barbecue family.  I definitely miss using the grill every night in the summer time for breakfast, lunch and dinners!  If I was to choose one favorite food for the summer, it’d probably be my dad’s BBQ chicken.  Using his own blend of spices and homemade sauce, he grills the chicken until it’s black, but somehow isn’t burnt, haha.  I demand this to be made every time I visit my parents at home.  🙂
