I feel I need to introduce Lau, because she is one of the sweetest, alluring, and subtley sexy girls I have ever met. I mean, I don’t want you to think I have a crush but I like to think of her as my muse…the smile, the laugh, the head tilted to the side get stuck in my head. Those images of a smiling happy girl are what bubble up when I’m designing, so I have to thank her for keeping me positive! She writes a little about her experience modeling for the BTS fashion shows below, and really… she drew a crowd. I had friends fly out from California the last year asking *is Lau going to be there?!* they were there for the show, but the fact that she came back year after year made her an expectation! Thank you Lau for all the amazing photos, and you know I’m wishing you well in whatever dreams you wish to pursue be it modeling or designing!
xoxo

BTS girl: How did you find out about BTS?
Lau: One of Layla’s classmates asked if anyone would be interested in modeling for student designers for a lingerie fashion show. It was more about fun and adventure for me, but I winded up making some friends while doing it, and never stopped showing up for each years fittings to be apart of the show.
BTS girl: So how many years did you do the show?
Lau: I’ve done the show all three years that it had taken place, and now I’m modeling for the BTS line!

BTS girl: Any funny stories? Guys in the crowd, dressing room moments, awkward fittings or encounters with designers and other models?
Lau: Well, it’s funny; I didn’t realize the reaction I got from the crowd until I saw the pictures/ videos posted after the show. When I strutted down the catwalk I was in the zone, so I didn’t hear or see much. I kept my focus on the runway and the cameras at the end of the runway.
BTS girl:Why lingerie? Are you extroverted/introverted?
Lau: Well I love lingerie when it comes to the fun, creative, and extraordinary get ups these designers came up with. It was similar to dress up, but for grown ups! Who really gets to wear stuff like this often? I really come out of my shell in these shows. I don’t do this on the regular, but I do find it liberating.
BTS girl: Did you get nervous before the shows? Tell us about your prep ritual, if you had one!
Lau: I got nervous before one show when a designer said she wanted to use me but I didn’t know what the design was going to look like, or how it was going to fit. Sure enough (just as I worried), she showed up with the smallest itty-bitty thong and a sheer train. It was so tiny, that the only way I could describe it was border line floss (that goes for the front as well) but luckily someone’s mom helping out back stage, had a stash of nude thongs to wear under the garments. I don’t know that woman’s name but she saved me from exposing a little too much in the front! Although I know I signed up for a lingerie show- I did want to remain tasteful.
As far as Prep ritual- I usually buy all the products I need for the show. We had a lot of hair dressers but I knew exactly how I wanted my hair so I did it myself.
BTS girl: Are you still modeling lingerie? What have you been up to since we saw you at the show?
Lau: I have been a part of the BTS line, which was great to do and I hope I can continue to be a part of it! Also a shoot for FreshPair.comfor their Bra Fit Finder.
BTS girl: Is modeling your dream job, if not what’s your passion?
Lau: When I was a little girl, I thought it would be fabulous to be a model, but my parents taught me that education is important and comes first. I agreed to get my degree first than pursue other things if I still desired to. Sure enough- post graduation, modeling kind of just happened for me- but I’m still keeping to my job search for design.
BTS girl: How do you keep yourself in such great shape?
Lau: I try my best to eat healthy but I love a lot of things that aren’t good for me (fried food) so when I know a shoot could be in the works, I hit the gym more than usual and keep a strict diet. Try my best to not eat past 8 pm because I’m a late night snacker and that’s one of the worst things you can do when trying to loose weight.
BTS girl:Is beauty skin deep?
Lau: Beauty is one of those words that can be defined in a million different ways. I believe that beauty is skin deep when it comes to adoration for a person as a whole.
BTS girl: How are your puppies doing? Do you have photos of them you can share with us?
Lau: How thoughtful of you to ask! Clarence and Toby are doing great! They are the definition of opposites attract. They both bring me so much happiness.
Clarence & Toby napping. adorable.Toby also made his debut with Lau in our first shoot for Between the Sheets Collection below!
BTS girl: Random Question of the Day: Ok we already asked you what you wear Between the Sheets for the video, soOo what do you like to eat Between the Sheets? What do you get a craving for right before bed?
Lau: Oh geez I just mentioned how horrible I am when it comes to late night snacks! You know I will just about eat whatever I can find in the cabinets and the refrigerator! Ha ha.
And if I don’t have anything to eat- I go on delivery.com and order away! My favorite- I love eating cheese fries (mozzarella cheese) with gravy for dipping- which is something I started eating from going to Ski/Snowboarding in Canada. It was an appetizer they had at the bottom of the ski lift. I’ll eat that, and French Onion soup!
