For both of these videos Atsushi Nishijima collaborated with Jim Helton– some insights on what is attractive and inspiring to a photographer- like a girl’s legs on the street. It’s about those little moments that catch your eye and capture your attention for longer… Looking forward to more parts to the A study of legs video.
I discovered these videos through a the design director at a company I used to work for- with amazing taste I might add. Atsushi shot their lookbook, and that work is not on his site but when it goes online I will share! In the meantime I wanted to share with you Atsushi’s interesting point of view.
Atsushi describes the way he “smells” a secret when a woman has her back or side to him, and this is why he enjoys capturing these angles in his photography. He said he could use feeling, but that smell captures it better- I love this quirky way of describing his instincts as a photographer, like a bloodhound who can track something long after it’s gone he seems to use all of his senses-waiting for the perfect moment to capture a stunning photo.
